The Los Angeles County Bar Association will explore the Nuts and Bolts of International Arbitration and Litigation. The speakers will discuss the basics of useful arbitration and litigation considerations in the international context. The emphasis will be on practice pointers, including insights and strategies for novice and experienced lawyers representing clients engaged in cross-border disputes. They will cover international transactions and how disputes arise; the differences between and pros and cons of arbitration verses litigation; the impact of differing cultures and legal systems; forum or tribunal/arbitrator selection issues; discovery issues; and enforcing awards and judgments.
